  • Good with caveats.

Firstly, I want to say that yes, they are beautiful shoes. They look classy and fit very comfortable out of the box (TTS). There are caveats though.

    The good:

As I mentioned, very classy looking and will go with everything, lightweight and has very nice cushioning via 2 means. One, the sole is rubber so you get nice shock absorption. Two, the inside sole has a nice layer of cushioning which should allow you to walk forever (or until the shoe wears out (possibly sooner than later).

The not so good: UNLIKE the Pinas, the inside leather on the sides is THIIIINNN. It must be less than 1/16th of an inch! At the very least the Pinas have a nice smooth leather lining covering the rougher inner skin of the leather. The inner surface feels very suede like, which is OK but without any sort of reinforcement, it is begging to wear away fast. For "reinforcement", there is a thin strip of leather that folds about half an inch inside downwards from the seams which is stitched at the very top and glued on the remaining width down. The price is not equal to the quality.

Do I like these shoes? YES. Will I wear them a lot? YES. Am I satisfied with the build quality? NO. If I had bought these full price without seeing them I would have returned them. I had assumed that they were the same build quality of the Pinas.

I would recommend these shoes as long as you are aware of what you are getting. You ARE getting a very stylish, very lightweight shoe that is not built to last. Wait for a sale.
